What information do we need?

In order to determine how much of the wall can be removed, without affecting the stability of the building, and to calculate the size of beam you require, we will need a drawing or sketch of the existing and proposed layouts.

In addition, we will need:

  • details of what the beam is supporting
  • If floor joists are supported by the beam, we will need to know the sizes of the rooms
  • details of the roof structure and the height of the wall above the beam
